Alina Arellanes lives in Shandon, California, and is originally from Santa Catarina Cuixtla, a small municipality in the Sierra Sur region of Oaxaca. She joined Oax Sport in 2022 to support young athletes whose talent is often limited by lack of access. Inspired by her brother and the commitment of Oaxacan runners, Alina serves as a donor liaison on the U.S. West Coast. She believes that sport can be a real path to opportunity and transformation.

Alina has been part of the Oax Sport volunteer team since 2022 as Western USA Liaison. Her goal is to connect with supporters and potential donors to amplify the nonprofit’s impact. Her efforts help fund race entry fees, uniforms, travel, training gear, and coaching for talented athletes from under-resourced communities.
