¡RIDE APAZTLI! 2025 – A Free Ride with Heart and Purpose

¡RIDE APAZTLI! 2025 rolls into Magdalena Apasco Etla on July 20th, bringing together community, trail-building, and the pure joy of mountain biking. Organized by the all-volunteer crew Senderos Apaztli MTB, the event invites riders of all levels to gather at the Palacio Municipal for a 7:30 AM start. The ride will feature scenic dirt trails and a newly renovated jump line, all handcrafted by local riders.

A Volunteer-Driven Movement

What makes this event so powerful is the story behind it. Senderos Apaztli MTB, founded by Manuel Santiago, is a grassroots cycling initiative based in Magdalena Apasco. Their team of volunteers builds and maintains trails with no funding, no fees, and no formal backing—just community passion and teamwork. Their mission is to strengthen the mountain biking culture in their town while keeping it inclusive and accessible.

Jerseys That Carry Meaning

Produced locally by Felinus in Oaxaca, 10 custom jerseys—each valued at $400 MXN—were donated by Oax Sport and delivered at no cost to the organizers, members, and volunteers who are creating and maintaining the trails and hosting the event. This gesture is more than just fabric; it’s a sign of respect and gratitude for their hard work.

The jerseys were funded entirely through Oax Sport’s general fund, sustained in large part by the generous monthly contribution of Emma from France. Her continued support allows us to back initiatives like this that promote sport, community, and equity.

Building Beyond the Trail

We also want to highlight the ongoing work of Juan Victoria, who leads Oax Sport’s support committee and consistently pushes forward new projects. From Emily Barrera’s debut in national MMA competition to the growth of rural cycling collectives, Juan’s role in expanding community-based sport in Oaxaca is deeply valued.

A Call to Ride—and to Support

This isn’t just about jerseys. It’s about showing up. It’s about making sure local riders and trail builders are seen, supported, and celebrated. Small contributions, when shared with intention, can inspire lasting change and build stronger communities.

We invite you to join this celebration of effort and passion:
