Oax Sport supports Desiree Ramírez at FlowGame Camp 2026

Oax Sport A.C. provided MX$2,750 to support Oaxaca basketball player and assistant coach Desiree Danae Ramírez García at FlowGame Camp in Mexico City on September 18 and 19, 2026. The payment was transferred on August 27 toward round-trip ground transportation from Oaxaca and meals during the camp.

Desiree worked as an assistant coach and joined some activities as a player. She had also participated in FlowGame Camp in 2025, an experience she described as life-changing.

She plays university basketball at Universidad La Salle Oaxaca, where she is pursuing a master’s degree in Business Administration. She coaches younger players and creates sports content. She is also an Oax Sport member.

Returning to FlowGame Camp

At this year’s camp, Desiree worked with FlowGame founder Matías “Coco” Gallo Bevegni and coaches Justo Da Silva, Nacho Rodríguez and Emiliano Ávila, according to her post-camp account.

In her August 26 request for support, she explained that she wanted to improve her basketball skills, learn from experienced coaches and study different training methods.

After the camp, she identified sports resilience, acting with love and staying true to oneself as her main lessons. She also spoke about accepting mistakes and enjoying basketball regardless of competitive pressure.

These ideas have stayed with her since her first experience with FlowGame. She wants to continue applying them in her own playing career and when teaching others.

Bringing the lessons back to Oaxaca

Desiree says she is already applying what she learned with her teammates and basketball students. She wants to teach players to approach mistakes with greater awareness and continue learning while enjoying the sport.

She also reported that the camp contributed to her leadership, confidence, teamwork and professional studies.

Outside training, Desiree creates basketball content and promotes sporting activities. She credits consistent work in sports communication with creating new opportunities and collaborations.

Her goal is to encourage people of different ages to practice basketball and enjoy it. She also recommends that athletes continue learning through camps, training sessions and conferences.

Funding source and use

The MX$2,750 contribution came from corporate giving funds designated for supporting girls and women in sport and administered through Oax Sport’s athlete-support program.

Oax Sport transferred the amount directly to Desiree on August 27, 2026. Her application identified transportation between Oaxaca and Mexico City and meals during the camp as the intended expenses. The transfer is documented, while individual expense totals remain unverified.

100% of designated donations received by Oax Sport fund approved expenses for the selected athlete, team, program, or project. General donations that are not designated to a specific athlete or program help cover operating costs and other areas of greatest need.

Her message to women athletes

Asked what she would tell other women athletes in Oaxaca, Desiree encouraged them to focus on their goals and remain true to themselves. She also believes achievements should contribute to personal development and reflect the values that guide their work.

“There are always opportunities, so we have to be ready to take them.”
