Carolina’s international results
Carolina won her first world championship medal in 2021, taking bronze in the women’s 16–19 sprint category at the World Duathlon Championships in Avilés, Spain. Her finishing time was 1:17:13, according to the 2021 championship results.
Two years later, she competed in Ibiza, Spain, where she won silver in the women’s 20–24 sprint category. She finished in 1:02:59. The Mexican Triathlon Federation included her medal among Mexico’s results at the championships.

In 2024, Carolina placed fourth in the under-23 category at the Americas Triathlon Sprint Duathlon Championships in Cali, Colombia.
On September 19, 2026, she finished second among U23 women in Mérida, Venezuela, in 1:20:47. Her competition history is available through World Triathlon’s event results and her athlete profile.

Carolina shared her next objective with Oax Sport:
“My next goal is to compete at the 2026 World Duathlon Championships in Abu Dhabi, with the pride and responsibility of representing Mexico and Oaxaca on the international stage.”

Oax Sport’s earlier support
Carolina trains with Squalo Multisport Team under coach Ayax Niño Cruz. She has also competed in athletics and cycling.
Oax Sport first documented its support for Carolina in June 2025, when we coordinated the delivery of running shoes donated by a supporter living in the United States.

At the time, Carolina was running more than 80 km per week. She explained that she wore out at least one pair of running shoes every two months. Replacing them was a regular training expense.
The donation and her training were documented in our 2025 article about Carolina’s running shoes.
The cost of competing in Abu Dhabi
Carolina estimates that the trip will cost about US$2,700 (MX$50,000), including international flights, accommodation, registration, meals and a competition uniform.
Oax Sport Inc. has established a GoFundMe campaign with a fundraising goal of US$920 before platform fees.
Oax Sport Inc. is a 501(c)(3) public charity based in Austin, Texas (EIN 86-3407818). Gifts designated for Carolina are not deductible as charitable contributions for U.S. federal income tax purposes. Consult your tax adviser about your circumstances.
Oax Sport Inc. has already paid Carolina a separate grant of about US$140 (MX$2,500) for smaller travel expenses. This payment is outside the GoFundMe fundraising goal.
Carolina has also paid about US$250 for her race registration using her own money. That expense will not be reimbursed through the campaign. She is responsible for the remaining trip costs beyond the support she receives.
Peso amounts were converted using Banco de México’s FIX rate of 18.4163 MXN per US$1 on October 9, 2026. Approximate dollar amounts are rounded.
Donations collected through GoFundMe will be used for Carolina’s eligible competition expenses. Oax Sport Inc. pays approved vendors directly where possible or reimburses eligible expenses supported by receipts.
100% of designated donations received by Oax Sport fund approved expenses for the selected athlete, team, program, or project. General donations that are not designated to a specific athlete or program help cover operating costs and other areas of greatest need.
Any unused balance will remain reserved for Carolina’s future eligible competitions until the board review scheduled for November 14, 2028. The funds will not automatically be reassigned to another athlete or program.
How to support Carolina
Supporters can contribute through her GoFundMe campaign or share the link with sports clubs, friends and others interested in supporting an athlete from Oaxaca.
After the championship, Oax Sport plans to publish Carolina’s official race result and a report on the documented use of campaign funds.
