Run With Us/A day in the sierra
Sierra Norte

Capulálpam de Méndez

A full day in a mountain town at around 2,000 metres, 6,560 feet. Several runs and walks, a long meal, and time in the town itself. What you run is decided that morning, with your group standing in front of it.

A group of six men standing together in front of a historic church in Capulalpam, Oaxaca. They are wearing Oax Sport shirts and smiling at the camera. The sky is clear and blue.
This is a full day, not one route
Several routes, chosen on the morning. Short forest loops, a longer traverse, and walking sections for anyone who would rather hike.
Hours
06:30 to 19:30, about thirteen hours door to door.
Price
Special tour, minimum 4 people
Quoted once we know the group size and the season.

What the day is like

There is no single distance to quote for this one, and that is the point. A day in Capulálpam holds two or three separate outings with rest and food between them, and the group decides in the morning how much of it is running.

Capulálpam is a Pueblo Mágico in the Sierra Juárez, about two hours from the city. The community runs its own forest, its mine tour and its medicinal plant house, and the day is built around what they offer rather than around a course.
