Athlete · Oaxaca Basketball Player · Radio Co-host and Content Volunteer
Desiree Ramírez is a basketball player at Universidad La Salle Oaxaca, a youth basketball coach, and a sports content creator. She volunteers with Oax Sport on radio, camps, running experiences, and communications.
Desiree Ramírez has played basketball for nearly 16 years at the state, national, and international level. She plays forward and center for Universidad La Salle Oaxaca, where she completed her civil engineering studies and is now pursuing an MBA. Since 2023, she has created social media content that promotes sport and healthy living in Oaxaca.
About Desiree
As a girl, Desiree won first place at Copa “El Caribe”, an international tournament in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, an experience she still carries in her heart. Since then, she has competed in YBOA tournaments, university championships, and exhibition games across Mexico. Off the court, she coaches children and teenagers, working on mindset, confidence, and how to handle mistakes. Her motto is “Enjoy it.”
Role at Oax Sport
Desiree is a regular voice on Oax Sport Thursdays (Jueves de Oax Sport), our weekly radio segment on Tribu al Extremo, 106.1 FM. She has been a guest to talk about university basketball, the 2026 athletics camp, and athlete sponsorship, and she co-hosted the IQ Basketball broadcast.
At the Oax Sport–Titanes 2026 Athletics Camp, she took part in several sessions and shared a first-hand athlete perspective. She also guides Oax Sport’s athlete-led running experiences and creates content for them. In September 2026, Oax Sport supported her trip to Mexico City, where she served as an assistant coach at FlowGame Camp. She wants to keep contributing to athlete development, sports programs, social media, communications, and event organization.
