Introduction
Oax Sport chose to support Antelmo Salinas for his consistency, dedication, and proven results in previous Monte Albán races. Training in Miahuatlán for the 2025 edition, Antelmo balances his job and running with discipline and focus, representing the commitment Oax Sport looks to promote among athletes.
Pre-Race Support
“I feel happy because this support really helps, especially for those of us who come from outside the city. It motivates me to train harder and show that everything is possible,” Antelmo said after receiving his pre-race support. Oax Sport is assisting him with registration, transportation, and accommodation for the event. He also received an official shirt for post-race photos and will have professional photo coverage before and after the competition.
Antelmo first learned about Oax Sport through social media. “I saw their posts about helping athletes, and what caught my attention was the kind of support they provide,” he explained.
The IMSS Monte Albán Race
Building on this preparation, the IMSS Monte Albán Race is one of the most recognized events in the region. The course begins in the city and ends at the Monte Albán archaeological site, featuring steep climbs that demand strong physical preparation and mental endurance. Antelmo will run the 22K distance this year, aiming to improve his time from last season. “I’m training and trying not to think about the climb—just doing my job and hoping my body responds at 100 percent,” he said.
According to publicly available results, Antelmo placed 2nd in 2023 and 3rd in 2024 in the 22 km category, with an approximate time of 1 hour and 20 minutes last year. His consistent podium finishes reflect his dedication and potential to perform strongly again in 2025.
Looking Ahead
Beyond competition, this race represents progress for him. “First, I want to keep competing locally, but above all, I want to race in other states and make my community proud,” he said.
Oax Sport will publish an official report about his participation after the race, documenting how structured support can create opportunities for athletes who train consistently with limited resources.
