From Oaxaca to the World: Digital Storytelling & Youth Media Lab

We train youth athletes from underserved communities to become digital storytellers and community ambassadors. Through hands‑on workshops and mentorship, participants learn video, writing, and safe online skills to share their journeys—on their terms.

What Your Support Makes Possible

Youth in rural and indigenous communities are often excluded from digital spaces. This program opens doors by providing training, tools, and mentorship—so athletes can create and publish their own stories safely and confidently.

Digital Skills Training

Workshops in smartphone video, editing, interviews, blogging, and public speaking focused on real stories from Oaxaca.

Media Kits & Safe Publishing

Tripods, lights, mics, and editing tools plus captioning, translation, and guidance on safe, responsible online engagement.

Mentorship & Pathways

Volunteer media professionals coach youth through drafts, feedback, and publishing—building confidence and career pathways.

2025–2028 Program Goals

  • Train 20 youth in digital storytelling and media safety.
  • Publish at least 50 athlete-created videos or posts each year.
  • Launch athlete-run bios and campaigns for public use.
  • Connect rural voices from Oaxaca to global conversations in sport and culture.
